Congress Sets 7 Lakh Graduate Voter Target in Telangana MLC Constituencies
Congress is preparing in a big way for Telangana's two Graduate MLC elections in March 2027. The party has set a target of enrolling around seven lakh voters in each constituency. In 2021, five lakh voters were registered, so this is a sharp jump.
Two constituencies are going to polls. Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar, represented by Surabhi Vani Devi, and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda, represented by Chintapandu Naveen Kumar. Both seats end in March 2027.
Voter enrolment started on 28 September 2026, as per Election Commission of India schedule. Congress has formed special teams across all six undivided districts covered by the two constituencies. A control room at Gandhi Bhavan will track daily progress for each constituency.
Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy is overseeing the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda exercise. He has called it a tough challenge. Even graduates already listed in previous rolls need to enrol afresh to become eligible for these MLC elections. Voters should keep that in mind.
The old numbers show how much room there is to grow. In 2021, 5,17,883 graduates enrolled in Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar. That is more than double the 2.3 lakh in 2015. Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda had 5,05,565 registered voters. Both parties and the ruling Congress see big scope this time.
ECI Key Dates
Form-18 applications can be submitted until 6 November 2026. Draft voter list publishes on 25 November 2026. Claims and objections window runs from 25 November to 10 December 2026. Disposal of claims ends by 25 December. The final electoral roll comes out on 30 December 2026.
The GenZ factor could play a big role. Parties are reaching out to first-time eligible graduates through digital platforms and direct mobilisation. In-charge ministers and MLAs will handle enrolment once the ongoing special intensive revision concludes in early November.

Important note: You must apply again even if you registered in the past. Eligible graduates need to submit a new application using Form-18 and include certified copies of their educational documents.

Election Commission announces schedule for Graduate MLC voter registration in Telangana
Election Commission officials released the schedule for updating graduate voter lists in Telangana. This covers Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda areas. Graduates should check these dates carefully.
## Voter registration details
Public notices for registration go out on September 20. You have until November 6 to submit your applications. State Chief Electoral Officer confirmed that all previous voters must apply again to appear on this new list.
The draft list arrives on November 25. You can file objections until December 10. The final list should be out on December 30. This update is required because the terms for MLCs Vani Devi and Teenmar Mallanna end in March.

Telangana government raises alarm over mass voter deletions
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is worried about the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. Congress party leaders fear many voters might be removed, especially poor families and minority groups.
Figures show that nearly 94 lakh people could be removed because their details are marked as hard to collect or having mistakes. The Chief Minister said his party did not send enough Booth Level Agents to watch the checking process on the ground. Reports say many Booth Level Officers skipped the required home visits, choosing to just collect details at main centers instead.
Voters at risk
This gap in the checking process means many people might lose their right to vote. The problem is mostly in districts around Hyderabad, including Ranga Reddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, and Nalgonda. Congress is now focusing on the claims and objections phase. They want to protect their voters before the final lists are released.

Political parties begin voter enrolment drive for upcoming MLC elections
Political activity is growing in Telangana as parties prepare for upcoming Graduates MLC elections. Terms for current MLCs end in March next year. Election Commission of India will likely start the official sign-up process this October after the special update exercise.
## Voter registration efforts
Leaders from main parties are contacting eligible voters to increase registration numbers. Estimates show a big gap between eligible graduates and those actually signed up in Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda areas. This effort shows parties want to secure their support before the nomination phase begins.

Election ballot box found in Nalgonda scrap shop
Security news arrived today from Nalgonda. A ballot box from Telangana State Election Commission turned up at a local scrap iron shop. The shop owner says a stranger sold it there three days ago. The box seems to have come from Bhupalpally district.
Security lapse investigation
Officials checked the box and found marks from a metal cutter. This situation raises concerns about safety. How did election equipment leave a secure room? People are demanding a detailed check into this mistake. Authorities must explain how this happened and who is responsible for the security failure.
