Odisha officials conduct field inspections for voter list revision
Senior officials from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Odisha are visiting districts to monitor the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. This field work, taking place from July 20 to July 29, 2026, helps make sure voter lists are accurate and clear.
Teams are checking progress in Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Kalahandi, Angul, and Jajpur. These officers review how claims and objections are handled, look at registration records, and meet with Booth Level Officers to solve local problems.
Improving the voter list process
These visits on the ground are very important for fixing delays in processing forms. After these visits, the CEO office will use the findings to make technical improvements. This helps keep the democratic process running well for every eligible citizen.

Errors in Sundargarh Draft Electoral Roll Cause Voter Concern
Voters in Sundargarh are having big problems after the draft electoral roll for Special Intensive Revision 2026 came out. Many people found clear mistakes in their names, addresses, and other details. At a booth in Rourkela, a person who passed away was still on the list. Others saw the wrong house numbers.
Local people say Booth Level Officers did not do the required home visits to check details. Now, many people have to fix these errors themselves. Officials told voters to use Form 8 for corrections or Form 6 to register as new voters. Still, many find this process hard to follow.
How to fix voter details
If you find mistakes in your details, you can use the official Election Commission of India portal to manage your voter information.

Her career included serving as a district collector in Cuttack and Sundargarh. She is the wife of former bureaucrat VK Pandian.
This move marks her transition into opposition politics as the BJD works on its organizational rebuilding efforts.

Odisha Special Intensive Revision Progress Review
Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Bharti conducted a high-level review of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program in Odisha. The state has successfully mapped 94.6 percent of its 3.33 crore voters, with 99.20 percent of enumeration forms distributed as of June 16, 2026.
Key updates from the review:
- Sundargarh district leads the state in form distribution and digitization progress.
- A ban on transfers and appointments of officers involved in SIR duties is now in effect across all assembly constituencies.
- An additional 275 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers have been appointed to streamline the process.
- Officials have been directed to complete all pending tasks before the June 28 deadline, with specific instructions to expedite work between June 23 and June 24.
Help centers are operational at both state and district levels to assist voters with grievances. The Election Commission remains focused on ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral rolls.

Odisha completes distribution of voter roll revision forms to 99 percent of electors
Odisha has successfully distributed enumeration forms for the special intensive revision of electoral rolls to approximately 99 percent of the state's voters. Official data indicates that 34.54 percent of these forms have already been digitised.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi actively participated in the campaign at his native Raikala village in Keonjhar district by filling out his own enumeration form. This initiative aims to ensure an accurate, transparent, and updated electoral roll for the state.
The Sundargarh district is currently leading the state in both the distribution of forms and the digitisation process, with 62.71 percent of data already processed in the district. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with local administration and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the ongoing door-to-door verification process.
