Latest Updates in Okhla

Significant reduction in Delhi voter rolls following revision
Delhi electoral records have shifted significantly. The latest draft roll from August 31, 2026, lists 97,53,577 registered voters. This is a large decrease from the 1,56,26,736 voters counted in February 2025.
Official data shows that 58 lakh names were removed over the past 18 months. The Special Intensive Revision process led to over 47 lakh of these deletions. In 68 out of 70 constituencies, the number of removed voters was higher than the margin of victory in the 2025 election.
Voter removal patterns
Analysis shows that areas with many renters had higher removal rates than neighborhoods where people own their homes. Often, officials removed voters because they could not find them during home visits. You can read the first part of this series here or find all coverage on these issues here. Nearly 11 Lakh Delhi Voters Removed from Electoral Rolls
Nearly 11 lakh names were removed from Delhi electoral rolls in the 16 months before the Special Intensive Revision exercise. Many residents found out their names were gone only when they tried to join the current revision process. These deletions affect a large part of the city voters.
Delhi Chief Electoral Officer office officials say these removals happened during regular quarterly updates or because of Booth Level Officer mistakes. Voters who were left out can register again. File Form 6 with the required declaration and documents to get back on the voting list. You can file these claims until September 30, 2026. Residents in areas like Adarsh Nagar, Okhla, or Timarpur should check their status right away.
Steps to restore your status
If your name is missing, submit your application to your local ERO, AERO, or BLO. You can also use the Election Commission voter services portal or the ECINET mobile application to finish the process online. The final electoral roll will be released on November 4, 2026.

Delhi releases draft voter list with over 5 lakh claims
Delhi published its draft voter list. Records show 5,34,826 claims and objections by September 1. Most requests involve adding new voters or fixing current details. The city now has about 1.45 crore registered voters. This number is lower than for the 2025 Assembly elections.
Voter list discrepancies
The latest draft roll excludes over 47 lakh voters. Officials say these forms were not collected, which affects nearly a third of all voters. Many people were marked as moved, absent, or deceased.
Areas like Tughlaqabad and Okhla seem hit hard. Almost half their voters are missing from the records. Data errors remain a problem. These issues require fixing before the final list release on November 4.

Delhi Voter Roll Update: Check Your Status After 33 Percent Deletions
About 33 percent of voters in Delhi were left off the latest draft voter lists after a special review. Out of 1.45 crore registered voters, only 97.5 lakh were confirmed. The Chief Electoral Officer stated that these removals include people who have passed away, duplicate entries, or residents who moved or could not be verified.
If your name is missing, you have until 30 September 2026 to fix it. Eligible voters can submit Form-6 with a signed declaration to get back on the list. Visit the official website to check if your name is marked as absent, shifted, or dead/duplicate.
Check your voter status
Data shows that 13 assembly seats, including Tughlakabad, Okhla, and RK Puram, had over 40 percent of their voters removed. This draft list is much smaller than the 2025 assembly election numbers. Verify your details soon to make sure you are registered for future elections.

Delhi Voter List Revision Reveals Large Number of Missing Names
Concerns have emerged about the latest draft electoral roll in Delhi. Almost 47.6 lakh voters seem to be missing after the Special Intensive Revision process. These numbers are worrying for the democratic process.
Missing voter details
Tughlakabad is at the top of this list. Records show that 92,033 out of 1,92,419 enumeration forms were never collected there. Okhla is also affected. In that area, 1,63,829 voters are missing from an initial list of 3,62,813, which is over 45 percent of the total. Residents should check their registration status now.

AAP raises concerns over mass voter deletions in Delhi
Aam Aadmi Party leaders are worried about the recent voter list update in Delhi. The party says about 1.67 lakh names were removed from the voter list in Burari assembly area.
Sanjeev Jha, the local MLA, said nearly 40 percent of voters in his area were marked as shifted. He noted that many migrant workers and tenants were unfairly left off the lists. The party wants Election Commission to share details on these removals to keep things clear and allow for checking.
Voter list concerns
Official records show many names were also removed in places like Okhla, Badarpur, and Vikaspuri. AAP leaders asked election officials to share contact details for affected people, so they can get help to register again.
