Mayawati removes Akash Anand from BSP leadership roles
Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has officially removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from his role following a public disagreement. This follows recent shifts in his political status within the party. Mayawati stated that a lack of loyalty is the main reason for this decision.
Ashok Siddharth, who is Akash Anand's father-in-law, has also resigned from the party. These changes happen while political parties in Uttar Pradesh prepare for the 2027 assembly elections. Experts are now watching to see how this affects the party support among Dalit voters.
Political shifts in Uttar Pradesh
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party has introduced a new blue dress code for its student wing. This is an attempt to connect with a wider audience. It is unclear yet how these leadership changes and new symbols will affect the upcoming election results.

Delhi Electoral Roll Update: 47.56 Lakh Names Removed in SIR Exercise
Election Commission of India finished a Special Intensive Revision of voter lists in Delhi. After home visits, the draft voter list now has 97.53 lakh voters, compared to the previous 1.45 crore. Officials removed 47.56 lakh names. They did this to take out duplicate, deceased, or moved entries.
Details for voters
What this means for voters: This work helps keep the voter list accurate. Many people were marked as absent or moved because residents often change addresses in the city. If your name is missing, you are not always permanently excluded. The office has set up ways for eligible people to file claims and objections to check their status.
Similar work happened in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Officials checked entries in Noida, Dadri, and Jewar. Check your status through official channels to make sure you are still registered for upcoming elections.

BSP plans major show of strength in Lucknow on October 9
Bahujan Samaj Party is preparing for a meeting in Lucknow on October 9. This event honors the death anniversary of party founder, Kanshi Ram. Party president Mayawati asked workers from all over Uttar Pradesh to meet at Manyawar Kanshi Ram Ji Smarak Sthal to pay respects.
At a recent state meeting, Mayawati highlighted why this meeting matters. She told members to focus on booth-level work and connecting with voters. The party is also reviewing its election plan, looking closely at how they pick candidates and tackling local issues like jobs and migration. Mayawati warned supporters not to be distracted by the freebies promised by other political parties.
Preparation for upcoming elections
This year, the event moves to Lucknow because the usual memorial site in Noida is being repaired. It is not yet confirmed if the party chief will speak at the event. However, the party clearly wants to show its strength before the Assembly elections.
