Delhi Electoral Roll Update: 47.56 Lakh Names Removed in SIR Exercise
Election Commission of India finished a Special Intensive Revision of voter lists in Delhi. After home visits, the draft voter list now has 97.53 lakh voters, compared to the previous 1.45 crore. Officials removed 47.56 lakh names. They did this to take out duplicate, deceased, or moved entries.
Details for voters
What this means for voters: This work helps keep the voter list accurate. Many people were marked as absent or moved because residents often change addresses in the city. If your name is missing, you are not always permanently excluded. The office has set up ways for eligible people to file claims and objections to check their status.
Similar work happened in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Officials checked entries in Noida, Dadri, and Jewar. Check your status through official channels to make sure you are still registered for upcoming elections.
