Election Commission of India has launched a service to check if your name is on the voter list using SMS. Simply type ECI <EPIC Number> and send it to 1950. You'll get a text back with your voter details if your name is listed. If you don't get a reply, talk to your local Booth Level Officer for help checking your status.
Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists is happening across the country. People can check if their name and details are in the voter list using a mobile phone. For this service your mobile number must be linked with your EPIC number.
How to Check Name by SMS with EPIC Number
STEP 1: First, enter 1950 as the recipient number as shown in below image
STEP 2: ECI <Space> EPIC Number (Voter ID Number) as shown in below image
STEP 3: You will receive a reply SMS from the Election Commission shortly. If the reply contains your name, EPIC details, or other voter information, it means that your details are registered under the SIR process.
If you do not receive the expected information, or if no relevant details are returned, please contact your BLO to confirm your status. Not receiving a reply alone does not necessarily mean that your details have not been registered.
