Bengaluru Voter List Revision Sparks Concern Over Mass Deletions
Serious concerns have come up in Bengaluru as Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls shows many names on the deletion list. In 25 Assembly constituencies, the number of potential removals is high. Five seats have over 50% of their voters marked for deletion.
Constituencies like Dasarahalli, C.V. Raman Nagar, Bommanahalli, BTM Layout, and Vijayanagar have more than half their registered voters listed for removal. Another 20 constituencies report deletion figures between 40% and 49%. These include areas like Govindarajanagar, Basavanagudi, and Padmanabhanagar.
Voter concerns and demands
Residents are worried about the accuracy of these lists. Many want a detailed checking process before any final decisions. Important demands include:
- Extend the revision timeline by up to one year to make sure every entry is checked.
- Require house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
- Set up voter help desks to assist with Form-6 and Form-8 submissions.
- Verify ASDD voters to make sure no one is removed without proof.
Voters want a clear system and a fair chance to fix errors. If you live in these areas, check your status. Make sure your details are correct so you are not wrongly removed from the voter rolls.

Actor Prakash Raj claims name deleted from Bengaluru voter list
Actor Prakash Raj said his name was removed from the Bengaluru voter list during the recent update process. He shared his frustration in a video. He has lived in the area for his whole life and even ran for MP before.
Many other people are facing the same problem. Reports show that nearly half of the voters in Bengaluru are now listed as absent, shifted, dead, duplicate, or other. Officials have asked people to check their details to make sure they stay on the list. If your name is missing, check the official Election Commission guidelines to learn how to register again.
Voter list issues
Parts of the city like Bommanahalli, Vijayanagar, and Dasarahalli have many flagged entries. It is a hard time for residents who now have to deal with paperwork to get their voting rights back.

Voter names wrongly appearing in Karnataka ASDDO list
Voters in Bengaluru are having a hard time. Many residents found their names on the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, Others list even after finishing the required check. Families are marked as permanently shifted, even after they submitted signed forms to their booth officer and got a receipt.
Check the official Election Commission website to verify your status. If your name is listed by mistake, reach out to your local booth officer or revenue inspector to fix the error. Do not wait until the last minute to correct these issues. For people living in Vijayanagara or Vijayanagar, make sure your details are updated in the latest voter list.

GBA Opens 98 Voter Help Centres in South Bengaluru
Voters in South Bengaluru who are having trouble with the Special Intensive Revision process now have a place to go for help. Greater Bengaluru Authority has launched 98 Voter Facilitation Centres to fix confusion. Many residents said Booth Level Officers were not visiting their homes. Others had a hard time filling out the Enumeration Forms correctly.
These centres are spread across seven assembly constituencies. You can visit them to verify your name in the 2002 electoral roll or get help with your forms. Staff are there to answer your questions about the revision process. This helps make sure everyone gets their details right.
Visit a centre for support
Centres are active in Govindarajanagar, Vijayanagar, Basavanagudi, Padmanabhanagar, BTM Layout, Jayanagar, and Bommanahalli. Visit your local centre if you have any questions about your voter status.

Priyank Kharge blames Election Commission for electoral roll revision issues
Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge said Election Commission is fully responsible for any mistakes during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He made it clear that state government doesn't set the rules or oversee this work.
Kharge is worried because people are still anxious about the revision. State government sent twelve questions to Election Commission about how it works, but they haven't got an answer yet. Booth Level Officers work for the state, but they follow direct orders from Election Commission.
Voter Support and Public Concerns
The minister mentioned that people from all political parties are helping voters in areas like Vijayanagara, Vijayanagar, and Jayanagar. Poor families, minorities, and backward classes are especially worried about this process.
Kharge asked Election Commission to fix these fears and make the process clear.
