Rishikesh

Election Commission of India took action against four people who ran in the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections. These candidates did not submit their election expense details properly. The commission found their responses to notices unsatisfactory.

Ramanand Singh, Balbir Singh Talwar, Kamlesh Mathur, and Jagjeet Singh cannot run in any Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, or Vidhan Sabha elections for the next three years. This decision follows Representation of People Act 1951. It reminds all candidates about the requirement for clear financial records in elections.
