Nellore Rural

Former Andhra Pradesh minister Dr. Kakani Govardhan Reddy has raised concerns about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Nellore. He went with senior YSRCP leaders to give a memorandum to District Revenue Officer. He says political interference is hurting the process.

The YSRCP leader mentioned district minister P. Narayana meeting with election officials. He calls this a violation of rules. He also said that voter data from Chennur village in Gudur Rural mandal was shared with ruling party members to change voter lists. This is apparently meant to remove opposition supporters and keep other entries.

Demand for Fair Election Process

YSRCP has already asked Chief Electoral Officer for an independent inquiry. Kakani warned that the party will go to court and start protests across the district if the process is not clear.

District Collector and District Election Officer Himanshu Shukla has issued a strict directive stating that government employees are not permitted to serve as Booth Level Agents (BLA). This decision follows official guidelines from the Election Commission of India for constituencies like Nellore Rural and Nellore City.

Employees currently engaged in such duties must stop these activities immediately. The administration has warned that any government staff found violating these election norms will face disciplinary action under the relevant laws and guidelines.

Political parties and public representatives have been urged to note these instructions and ensure full compliance with the Election Commission's rules.
