Nathdwara

Urban local body elections in Rajasthan are taking an unusual turn. Instead of the typical BJP versus Congress rivalry, candidates are ignoring party lines and showing unexpected goodwill. In Nathdwara, a BJP candidate publicly supported a Congress rival. In Sikar, a Congress leader was seen blessing a BJP opponent. These moments show how local ties often matter more than party labels.

Election challenges and local reactions

The campaign trail has seen some tension. In Dungarpur, a rebel candidate claimed officials used intimidation tactics by releasing dogs near his office. In Kota, residents have threatened to skip voting because of development problems. A weird error also appeared in a voter list where a photo of Lord Hanuman was used instead of a resident.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is pushing for a triple-engine government. Meanwhile, former CM Ashok Gehlot has criticized the ruling party for holding roadshows for local polls. Voters will soon decide if these events change the final results.
