Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2027 Overview
Preparations for 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections are picking up. Political parties are getting ready for a big vote. Election Commission has not released the official schedule yet. Polls will likely happen in early 2027 to pick members for all 403 assembly seats.
The fight is mainly between BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and INDIA bloc, led by Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party. Bahujan Samaj Party will likely run alone. This could lead to three-way battles in many areas, including Ayodhya, Milkipur, and Meerapur.
Past Results and Voter Data
BJP won 273 seats in 2022 assembly elections. This was a big win. It was the first time since 1985 that a party stayed in power after a full term. Over 15 crore eligible voters will decide the outcome. This vote is a very important test for all parties before the 2029 Lok Sabha polls.
Allegations of Voter List Irregularities in Ayodhya
Serious allegations have surfaced regarding irregularities in the voter list for the Milkipur assembly constituency in Ayodhya. Local authorities, including the SDM, are currently under scrutiny following claims of discrepancies in the electoral rolls.
Voters and local representatives have raised concerns, prompting a review of the process to ensure transparency and accuracy in the voter registration records.
