Paloncha Man Seeks VVPAT Changes in Supreme Court
Nalla Suresh Reddy, who lives in Paloncha in Kothagudem district, Telangana, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. He wants changes made to the VVPAT system used during elections.
Reddy runs the Shyamala Gopalan Education Foundation. His main ask is that the exact time of each vote be printed on the VVPAT slip. The case, Nalla Suresh Reddy vs Union of India, was heard by the Supreme Court on May 27, 2026.
His argument is simple. Current VVPAT slips show the candidate's serial number, name and symbol, but there is no way to tell when the vote was recorded. He wants a time stamp on each slip. He made it clear that no voter's name, EPIC number or electoral-roll details should be shown.
What the Supreme Court said
The Court said these changes involve technical and policy decisions. Those decisions sit with Election Commission of India. The Court told its Registry to send the full paper-book to Election Commission for review, as per law.

K Kavitha rules out return to BRS
K Kavitha, president of Telangana Rakshana Sena, said she won't go back to Bharat Rashtra Samithi. While speaking in Kothagudem, she said there is no chance of rejoining the party led by her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao. She claimed BRS has big funds and asked that this money be given to families of statehood martyrs.
She also set a July 20 deadline for the government to solve problems for Singareni workers. If demands aren't met, she'll start an indefinite fast. This includes wanting jobs for dependents of workers who are medically unfit.
Singareni Worker Demands
Kavitha asked Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy to give coal blocks to Singareni Collieries directly. She wants this done without auctions.

Mandal Officer Absent from Voter Roll Meeting in Bhurgampahad
Bhurgampahad saw some tension during a recent public information campaign about voter list revisions in Kothagudem. Local political leaders and booth level agents went to Tahsildar office but found the mandal officer was not there. This made the people there very frustrated.
It is worrying when officials miss such very important democratic tasks. The meeting was meant to make the voter list revision steps clear. Many questions stayed unanswered because the main officer was missing. Political representatives want an explanation now. They are asking if this shows a lack of seriousness toward election duties. Responsibility at mandal level is very important for a smooth election process.

Official Absence Sparks Concern at Bhurgampahad Voter Revision Meeting
Local officials in Bhurgampahad were criticized today after Mandal Officer skipped a very important public information campaign about the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The meeting took place at Tahsildar office. It was meant to help Booth Level Officers and political representatives with the voter list update process in Kothagudem.
It is troubling that this democratic exercise lacked proper oversight. Political leaders at the venue were unhappy. They said the officer's absence left many procedural questions unanswered.
Demand for Accountability
Leaders are now asking district administration for an explanation. They want to know if this was negligence or an unavoidable delay. Responsibility is very important for a fair election process. Authorities should look into these concerns immediately.

BRS leaders urge cadres to prevent voter deletions during SIR
BRS leaders have called upon party workers to remain vigilant during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters' list. Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra and other senior party leaders addressed cadres in Kothagudem, expressing concerns over potential voter deletions.
Party officials alleged that the current government is neglecting public welfare and development. They urged booth-level agents to actively engage with the public to ensure that voter details are accurate and to prevent any unauthorized removal of names from the electoral rolls.
