TTAADC Village Committee Election: TMP Wins 2939 Seats, BJP Far Behind
Tripura State Election Commission updated its results portal at 7:30 PM on 5 October 2026. Tipra Motha Party (TMP) is comfortably ahead in the 2026 TTAADC Village Committee elections with 2,939 seats declared won so far.
Results are out for 3,688 of the 4,594 Village Committee constituencies listed on the portal. The remaining 906 are still being counted.
BJP is second with 567 seats, well behind TMP's total. The gap between the two stands at 2,372 seats. Independent candidates have won 110 seats, putting them third.
CPI(M) has picked up 45 seats. IPFT (Indigenous People's Front of Tripura) got 17. Congress managed only 10. AIFB, CPI, CPI(ML)L and RSP have not won a single seat as per the latest update.
District-wise Position
Counting is on at different stages across Tripura districts. In Dhalai, results are out for 468 of 902 constituencies. Gomati has seen 611 results declared, with 172 still being counted. Khowai and West Tripura have finished declaring all their constituencies, 541 and 652 respectively. In South Tripura, 524 of 538 are already declared.
The Commission has said its online figures are based on data entered by Returning Officers from their counting centres. The numbers are likely to change as more results get updated in the system.
Nearly 80 per cent of constituencies are already declared, and TMP is firmly in the lead. A final picture will come only after all 4,594 constituencies are declared.

Tipra Motha secures 34 percent of Tripura village seats unopposed
Tripura is preparing for Village Committee elections on September 28. Tipra Motha Party, an ally of BJP, has already won 1,557 seats without opposition. This accounts for about 34 percent of the 4,597 total seats.
BJP also won 81 seats without a contest. Voting will take place for the remaining 2,954 seats across 44 blocks. These elections are finally happening after a 10-year gap.
Political concerns during elections
Reports of political tension have surfaced. Leaders from IPFT spoke out against violence, specifically noting an incident in Khowai. Opposition parties such as CPI(M) and Congress state that their candidates faced intimidation during the nomination process. It is important that the rest of the election process remains peaceful and fair.

Tipra Motha Party gains ground before Tripura village polls
Tripura will hold village committee elections on September 28. State Election Commission data shows Tipra Motha Party already secured 1,557 seats without a contest. This accounts for almost 34 percent of all seats. BJP won 81 seats unopposed.
Voting will take place for 2,954 seats across 44 blocks. After candidates withdrew, 9,820 remain in the race. Political parties like CPI-M and Congress report violence and intimidation during the nomination phase.
Concerns about election fairness
Incidents in areas like Khowai district affect the voting process. Voters are watching how the commission handles these complaints before polling day in Agartala and other regions.

BJP and TIPRA Motha candidates win 1,179 Tripura village seats unopposed
Candidates from BJP and ally TIPRA Motha Party won 1,179 seats in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council village committee elections without a contest. This result covers about 26 percent of the 4,597 total seats.
TIPRA Motha won 1,148 of these seats, while BJP won 31. Jampuijala in Sepahijala district had the most unopposed wins for TIPRA Motha. Other places like Hezamara, Belbari, and various blocks in Khowai district also had many uncontested victories.
Election details
During the nomination phase, 10,889 candidates filed papers. TIPRA Motha submitted the most. Voting for the remaining seats happens on September 28. Final results will be out by October 8. These elections are happening because of a Supreme Court order.

Tripura Village Committee Elections See Over 10,890 Nominations
Election season is back in Tripura. After ten years, voters will head to the polls on September 28 to elect representatives for 4,597 Village Committee seats. Officials say 10,890 candidates filed nominations across 587 committees.
The race is crowded. BJP is running with tribal allies, Tipra Motha Party and IPFT. CPI(M)-led Left Front and Congress are trying hard to challenge the alliance. 1,169 seats have only one candidate, so some will win without a vote. Three seats in Mungiakami and Hezamara blocks have no candidates at all.
Election tensions and next steps
Tensions are rising. There are reports of violence, and leaders from IPFT and opposition parties claim people are being intimidated. Political leaders have asked for peace. The final list of candidates will be set after the withdrawal process ends on September 11. Residents in Agartala and Khowai should check their electoral details before the polls start.

Tension rises between IPFT and Tipra Motha in Tripura
Political tension is growing between ruling alliance partners in Tripura before the Village Committee elections. IPFT vice-president Pradip Kumar Debbarma spoke out after the party's general secretary, Swapan Debbarma, was reportedly attacked in Hezamara, part of the Mohanpur area.
Election security concerns
Debbarma said party members were attacked and blocked while trying to file their nomination papers. Even though they are in an alliance, IPFT candidates are having trouble taking part in the election freely. The party notified the State Election Commission and local police, asking for extra security to keep things peaceful before the September 28 polls.
IPFT is keeping its nominations in place. Still, party leaders are very worried about the safety of their candidates and how the alliance will work together in areas like Agartala and Khowai.
