Election proceedings for Kayamkulam Milad-i-Memorial Trust are on hold. Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice N.K. Singh issued a stay order. This stops the process that was planned for August 31.

Court interference

The court acted after petitioners raised concerns about the voter list. They stated that 156 eligible members were excluded from the process. These members took part in General Body meetings earlier this year, but their names are missing from the current list. Petitioners were worried that going ahead with the election would make their legal case pointless. The court will hear the matter again in two weeks.
