Kalina

Eleven teachers from two convent schools in Santacruz East face legal action. They were booked on Wednesday because they did not show up for their duties as booth level officers. Their work is part of a plan to check the voter list in the Kalina area.

Police case details

Bandu Raut, the helper for electoral registration in constituency 175, filed the complaint. He said that none of the teachers replied to notices sent on July 7. These teachers reportedly ignored orders to help with voter list work. Police registered the case under the Representation of the People Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for disobeying a lawful order. Officers will talk to the teachers soon.
