MLA demands Gruhalakshmi payments before voter list revision
Hubballi MLA Mahesh Tenginakai wants Karnataka government to pay pending Gruhalakshmi scheme money before starting voter list revisions. He says nearly 5,000 crore rupees for February and March 2025 are still unpaid to women. Thousands of families are waiting for this money.
The MLA says state is using the revision process to hide mistakes. He supports Special Voter List Revision for clarity, but says welfare dues are more important. Government hasn't spoken about these payments in Assembly, which is making people frustrated. A CAG report also pointed out some gaps, so there's more pressure on government to move fast.
Voter list revision drive begins in Hubballi
Hubballi MLA Mahesh Tenginkai started voter list revision drive on June 30, 2026. This campaign helps residents update details or register as new voters before civic polls. It is a good chance to make sure names are correct on electoral roll.
Booth Level Officers are visiting over 50,000 households in Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency this month. Keep identity documents ready for these teams. Small typos on a card can stop you from voting, so do not ignore this.

MLA Tenginkai submitted his own verification papers to set an example. If you are over 18, confirm your status to protect your right to vote. Keep ID proofs ready for the visiting officers.
Congress raises concerns over Special Intensive Revision in Karnataka
KPCC President B.K. Hariprasad has voiced strong concerns regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. While the party is not against the revision itself, he claims a conspiracy exists by the RSS and BJP to remove genuine voters from the electoral rolls.
Speaking at a convention in Hubballi, Hariprasad urged party workers to remain vigilant. He emphasized that voters must ensure their names remain on the list to continue receiving government scheme benefits. Former legislative council chairperson V.R. Sudarshan advised booth level agents to start household visits by June 30 and file objections immediately if they find genuine voters missing from the draft rolls expected in August for constituencies like Hubli-dharwad-west, Hubli-dharwad-east, and Hubli-dharwad-central.
Congress leaders are calling for active participation from all party members to protect the voting rights of citizens across the state.
