Byatarayanapura

Reports from Karnataka show a clear difference in how officials handle voter verification. Many citizens, including older people and those with disabilities, must travel to hearing centers and wait in long lines. Meanwhile, prominent figures get home visits from officials to fix their voter details.

For example, election officials recently visited the home of actor Shivarajkumar in Bengaluru. They checked his documents after his record was flagged during the Special Intensive Revision process. Other high-profile residents have received similar home visits.

New rules for voter verification

People criticized this unfair treatment. Because of this, the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka released a new order on September 11. Now, an adult family member can represent older voters, sick people, or those with disabilities at hearings. These voters no longer have to show up in person. Bengaluru officials have decided to expand the current voter list review. This follows major mistakes found in the Byatarayanapura constituency records. Teams are now checking data to make sure every eligible person is registered correctly before the next polls.

Check your registration

This is a very important step for fair voting. If you live in this area, please check your details on the official portal to avoid problems later.

Karnataka BJP leaders are worried about the current Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. R. Ashoka says officials are skipping the required door-to-door checks. He claims Booth Level Officers are handing out forms on the street instead of visiting houses.

The party thinks there is a plan to put foreign nationals on voter lists for political reasons. They pointed out specific problems near public areas in Bengaluru, Mahadevapura, and Byatarayanapura. BJP wants Election Commission to take criminal action against the officials involved.

Farmer support and water issues

Also, the opposition party mentioned water shortages and how drought is being handled in the state. They want urgent compensation for farmers who lost their crops.
