Budhni

Election Commission of India has started the process for by-elections in three states. If you vote in Budhni, Visavadar, or Ramgarh, keep these dates in mind. Nominations started after the July 6 notification.

Candidates can file papers until July 13. Papers will be checked on July 14. The window to withdraw ends July 16. Polling is on July 30 and counting happens on August 3.

Voter and Worker Rights

All workers get a paid holiday on polling day. This is a legal right under Section 135B of Representation of the People Act, 1951. It includes daily wage earners. Employers who ignore this can face legal trouble.

Note that dry days will be in place during the 48-hour silence period and on the counting day.
