Bhatkal

Important update for Non-Resident Indians from Karnataka. Chief Electoral Officer issued a new rule allowing adult family members to appear before the ERO or AERO for overseas voters. This change supports those who received document verification notices but could not travel on short notice.

Changes in verification rules

Previously, overseas voters had to appear in person, which caused problems for people working abroad. This rule now also applies to senior citizens, people with disabilities, and sick individuals. Many NRI groups asked for this change. They pointed out that quick travel for verification was often impossible for workers. This step will help more citizens get their names on the voter list.

People living in Bhatkal now have a place to fix their voter list problems. Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem and Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation started a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Helpline Centre at Bunder Road.

This scheme helps make voter registration easier. Trained volunteers are there to help with forms if you need to check your name, fix mistakes, or update details. It's a big step to make sure everyone is ready for the next elections.
