Rita Devi, the village head of Vishunapur in the Risia block of Bahraich, has filed a formal complaint with the District Magistrate after discovering her name was removed from the voter list. Despite her previous status as a registered voter, she alleges that her name was deleted during the recent revision process due to the actions of local officials. The District Magistrate, Akshay Tripathi, has directed the Chief Revenue Officer to investigate the matter and submit a report.

Residents of Lalpur Chandajhar village in Bahraich have raised concerns after 198 names were allegedly removed from the local voter list without prior notice or verification. Led by the Bharatiya Kisan Union, the villagers held a protest at the tehsil headquarters on Friday.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Block Development Officer (BDO), demanding a fair investigation into the matter. They have requested the administration to organize a special verification and correction camp in the village to restore the names of eligible voters. BDO Vijay Kumar Singh has assured that an inquiry will be conducted and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
