Telangana Congress Alleges Form-7 Deletion Bid Targeting 30 Members of a Muslim Family
Congress has said pre-printed Form-7 applications were used to seek deletion of around 30 members of a Muslim family from the electoral roll in Hyderabad's Musheerabad.
The complaint was dated October 1 and filed by Pulipati Rajesh Kumar, chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's Election Commission Coordination Committee, along with Mohd Wajid Hussain. It was sent to Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy.
Names in the complaint include Congress booth-level agent Shafuddin and about 30 members of his family. S Balachander, also called Balu, is also named. Congress describes him as a BJP booth-level agent for polling booth No. 210.
The main charge is simple. The party says the forms were printed in advance and not filled independently by the people listed as applicants. It wants the Election Commission to keep the original applications safe and check signatures, handwriting, dates, mobile numbers, EPIC details, and supporting papers.
Congress has also asked officials to record statements from the named applicants, check whether the forms share common formatting or handwriting, and verify the role of S Balachander. The complaint cites Election Commission guidelines saying the burden of proving a deletion reason falls on the applicant. It also warns that a false statement is punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
Form-7 numbers during SIR in Telangana
Nearly 29,000 Form-7 applications have been filed during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision in the state. CEO C Sudharshan Reddy said 28,753 applications had come in so far, with around 5,000 from Hyderabad. Siddipet and Sangareddy districts followed next.
Form-7 is used to object to a proposed inclusion or to seek deletion of an existing entry from the electoral roll. Researchers and civil society groups in Telangana have now asked for stricter checks so that eligible voters are not removed without a proper process.

Hyderabad Voter Verification Faces Delays
Election officials in Hyderabad are working fast. They are currently doing a big re-verification check, but 5.27 lakh voters are still waiting for their notices. This Special Intensive Revision helps clean up voter lists by finding mistakes and incorrect entries.
Managing the backlog
This is a big job. Officials have already sent out 7.26 lakh notices, but the remaining backlog makes it hard to hit the September 16 deadline for hearings. Secunderabad Cantonment, Musheerabad, and Jubilee Hills have the most pending notices. Authorities have brought in 10 extra Assistant Electoral Officers to help manage the work.
Check your status if you are a voter. The final voter list comes out on October 19. You can still apply for new registrations or fix details through official channels. Watch for awareness programs at your local polling station.

Telangana Voter List Revision Faces Scrutiny Amid Citizen Complaints
People in Telangana are worried while Election Commission works on a voter list update. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy pointed out big problems, saying over one-third of the state population is being checked under ASDD labels. He asked the Chief Election Commissioner to give more time so no real voter misses out.
Reports from places like Musheerabad, Yakutpura, and Malakpet show high tension. Just in Musheerabad, 1.4 lakh votes are being checked. Citizens in Secunderabad find it hard to reach Booth Level Officers. They wait a long time and get asked for old documents, even when they show valid Aadhaar and voter IDs.
Verification process challenges
Election officials say they are handling many notices for errors and missing voter data. They say hearings are happening and they are taking available documents to protect the rights of real voters.

Telangana voter list sees 73 lakh deletions
Updates to electoral rolls in Telangana led to removing 73 lakh names. This happened during a Special Intensive Revision process. Officials moved these entries into categories for people who are absent, shifted, duplicated, or deceased.
Hyderabad district saw the biggest impact with over 19 lakh deletions. In the city, Malakpet and Musheerabad constituencies had the largest drops in voter counts. Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri also reported big decreases in their lists.
Actions to take if your name is missing
If you find your name is gone, you can still take action. Wait for the upcoming period for claims and objections. Submit Form 6 to get your name back on the voter list. This is an easy process to make sure your right to vote stays protected.

Hyderabad Election Authority to Issue Notices to 5.82 Lakh Voters
Election officials in Hyderabad will send notices to over 5.8 lakh voters starting August 17. This follows the release of the draft voter list for the Special Intensive Revision 2026. If your details could not be matched with 2002 electoral records, a local booth-level officer may contact you.
## Verifying voter records
Officials are working to link current voter information to past records or family history to clean up the lists. Do not worry if you receive a notice. It does not mean your name is being removed. You have until September 16 to file claims or objections. If you do not have your 2002 details, you can provide any of the 12 identity documents accepted by the Election Commission of India to confirm your status.
Secunderabad Cantonment has the highest number of unmatched voters, followed by Jubilee Hills and Musheerabad. Keep in touch with your local election office to make sure your information is correct before the final list is published on October 19.

Hyderabad Election Authorities to Verify 5.82 Lakh Unmapped Voters
Election officials in Hyderabad will send notices to 5.82 lakh voters. These people were not linked to 2002 Special Intensive Revision electoral rolls. This does not mean your name is being removed immediately. It is simply a checking step.
This process covers 15 assembly constituencies. Secunderabad Cantonment has the most unmapped entries, with nearly 66,450. Other areas like Jubilee Hills and Musheerabad also have many entries. Do not worry if you receive a notice. You will get a chance to submit your documents and show you are eligible.
Verification process details
Officials are checking for address changes and errors in old records. Keep your documents ready for the upcoming hearings. This helps clean up the voter list and protects eligible citizens.
