Over 43 Lakh Telangana Voters Face Exclusion from Electoral Rolls
Over 43 lakh voters in Telangana might be removed from the final voter list. This is because they did not reply to official notices sent during the Special Intensive Revision process. Out of more than 82 lakh notices sent, many people did not show up for the required meetings.
The issue is especially serious in the Kodangal constituency. About 96 percent of those sent a notice there did not respond. Greater Hyderabad alone makes up nearly 19 lakh of these cases. Residents often feel confused about which documents to provide. Some officials are asking for several identity proofs even though rules say you only need one of the 12 accepted documents.
Actions to take
If you got a notice, act fast. You can ask for a new meeting date to show your documents and keep your name on the list. If you need support or want to report a problem, use the Grievance Redressal Form.

Telangana CM alleges systematic removal of voters from electoral rolls
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wants Congress, Communists, and other groups to work together against the central leadership. At a recent event, he claimed that officials are planning to remove anti-BJP voters from lists during the current Special Intensive Revision process.
Reddy stated that about 1 crore names could be removed across the state. He pointed to his own constituency of Kodangal, where 81,000 names were marked as problems. He told activists to watch closely and make sure every eligible person stays on the list.
Voter list updates
Election officials in Telangana are checking voter details now. They are sending notices to people whose records have issues or who are missing links to 2002 documents. People can submit claims or fix errors until October 15, 2026. The final list comes out on October 19.
If you get a notice about your registration, submit your required documents to your local Electoral Registration Officer to keep your name on the list.

Telangana Chief Minister Alleges Voter List Manipulation
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has concerns about the current Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He says there is an effort to remove voters from certain communities, especially those supporting Congress. Speaking in Kodangal, the Chief Minister claimed that BJP and BRS are working together to weaken his administration by targeting SC, ST, and minority voters.
Data from the draft electoral roll released on August 17, 2026, shows that over 9 million electors have been flagged. Many of these are marked as absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate. This has caused worry within the state government.
Verification process for voters
Party workers are acting as booth-level agents to check these entries. If your name is missing or marked incorrectly, submit your claims or objections to the Election Commission by September 16, 2026. The final voter list will be published on October 19, 2026.

CM Revanth Reddy alleges voter list manipulation in Telangana
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that Bharatiya Janata Party and Bharat Rashtra Samithi are working together to remove SC, ST, and minority voters from the lists during the current voter roll update. Speaking in Kodangal, he warned that if names are missing from the list, people will not be able to get state benefits like free power and housing support.
Voter registration steps
He asked Booth Level Agents to visit homes to make sure every eligible person is registered by the August 3 deadline. Revanth said that losing a vote is like losing a personal identity. He asked party workers to finish the registration work by July 30.

Fact Check: Claims of Dual Voter Registration for Telangana CM are False
Social media posts recently suggested that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has voting rights in two constituencies. Official records show this claim is false. Nagar Kurnool District Collector and District Election Officer confirmed the Chief Minister is not registered as a voter in the Achampet Assembly constituency or anywhere else in that district.
Verification of voter registration
Electoral data shows Revanth Reddy is registered only in the Kodangal Assembly constituency. Telangana Fact Check department dismissed these stories and confirmed there is no double voting or dual enrollment. Rely on verified government data instead of viral misinformation. Citizens can verify their own registration status through the official Election Commission portal.

BRS seeks probe into alleged duplicate voter entries for CM Revanth Reddy
Bharat Rashtra Samithi representatives recently met with Telangana Chief Electoral Officer to share concerns about multiple voter entries for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The party says his name is on voter lists for both Kodangal and Achampet.
Request for investigation
BRS wants a probe into these records. They asked if the Chief Minister reported his voter status in Kondareddypally village during his 2023 election filings. If this was not reported, the party says Election Commission should check for rules broken under Representation of the People Act.
State government statements on this have been mixed. An update from FactCheck Telangana now says the Chief Minister is only registered in Kodangal. They state he is not in Achampet or Nagarkurnool records. BRS stays doubtful and continues to ask for a clear inquiry.
